With the Equality Act (incorporating DDA) now in force, the upgrade from door bell to intercom could not be simpler.
Being slim and fitted on the door frame it becomes less prone to vandalism, unlike other types of intercoms.
A unique feature of this unit is that it only requires two wires. All the electronics are in the front intercom.
Upgrade from a door bell to intercom using the same wires. If you have a door bell already installed then all you have to do is disconnect the door bell push button and fit the intercom into its place. Disconnect the bell and extend the two wires to the battery operated handset.
The handset has a loud speaker as well as a flashing light on the handset.
The body of the intercom is manufactured from a solid block of aluminium with the disabled logo and ‘press for help’ printed on it.
