Channel Safety Supplies Help For Heroes Latest Endeavour:
Staff and patients at Headley Court work together towards a single aim: to help servicemen and women rejoin their unit and get back to work as quickly as possible.
Channel Safety Systems is aware of their efforts and was excited to be approached to supply, install and commission a fire alarm system, disabled refuge and nurse call within a new rehabilitation unit.
The £30,000 project was funded by the charity Help for Heroes which wanted to ensure that a top quality job was completed in a quick, efficient and professional manner.
The unit was opened on June 4th 2010 with many high profile guests in attendance including His Royal Highness, Prince William of Wales. During his visit the Prince spoke to Lieutenant Will Dixon, 26, who lost his left leg below the knee after his vehicle was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device in December. He told the Prince: “The facilities here are unbelievable and it’s all thanks to the British public, which makes it even more important to us.” Channel Safety Systems were an integral part of this having supplied useful devices such as the Hands free call point. Additions like these help to make it easier for servicemen and women who are reluctant to ask for help.
Channel Safety Systems supplied a ‘top of the range’ 2 loop fire panel that controls a 20 zone system of sound beacons, smoke and heat detectors (also supplied by Channel). This comprehensive system will ensure that the staff and patients will be at a minimal risk from fire.
It is clear that the servicemen and women deserve their chance to do the job that they have trained all their lives for. The generous contributions from the public have not been wasted in commissioning these systems as without them, many people would be unable to get back on the right track.
